The grand-opening ceremony for the new City of Seminole and Rotary Club of Seminole Centennial Playground was held at 11:30am February 23, 2005.

The $174,500 playground, suitable for children ages 2 to 12, is at the Seminole Recreation Center, 9100 131st St. N. The project was funded by a state grant, a grant from both the Rotary Club of Seminole, Rotary District 6950, and the City of Seminole.

The facility is 100 percent handicapped accessible and features an artificial grass surface and equipment specially designed to be accessible for children in wheelchairs. For more information, call Jim Sheets at (727) 391-8345.
